The cathedral in Seville was built with the specific intention of leaving the world speechless, and it succeeded! The city of tapas, orange trees, sangria and flamenco is as beautiful as it is enjoyable and spontaneous.
So much art!
The capital of Andalusia in southern Spain has so many monuments and places to visit that the hardest thing is deciding where to start. We recommend the Plaza de España, the size and beauty of which never fails to amaze visitors. From the Giralda, the cathedral bell tower, you can get a great view of the city. Next to the Giralda, the Alcazar is the oldest royal palace in Europe. The atmosphere in the pedestrian streets in the Santa Cruz district in the historic heart of the city is truly awesome. On the banks of the River Guadalquivir, the Torre del Oro was built in the 13th century to strengthen the city’s military defences. Across the Guadalquivir is the lively district of Triana, home to sailors, singers and flamenco dancers.
