To the sky by cable car
A ride on one of the many cable cars is a good way to see Madeira from on high and start discovering the island. As there are many steep slopes on the island, there are also a lot of cable cars. Monte is the highest part of the island. To come down from Monte, we recommend you get a “carreiro” to take you down the hill in one of their big wicker and wood sledges.
