The llengües fabric arrived on the island via the Silk Road and became the favourite garment of Mallorcan high society at the beginning of the 18th century. Nowadays it is still manufactured by hand, using an ancient technique: the ikat. This fabric is, without a doubt, a distinctive symbol of Mallorca.
