b) Special provisions for residents in Thailand :
1. Overview

To register you for MeliáRewards, the information collected includes:

d) Provisions applicable to residents in Vietnam:

In accordance with Applicable Vietnamese Data Protection Law, certain categories of personal data are classified as sensitive personal data, including but not limited to:

Sensitive personal data shall be processed only where strictly necessary, subject to enhanced technical and organizational security measures and, where required by law, separate and explicit consent.
Processing method
Customer data may be collected from numerous sources, including, among others:
- directly through the Meliá website and mobile application;
- during booking, check-in and throughout the hotel stay;
- through customer service interactions;
- from online travel agencies and authorized partners.
Personal data is stored within Meliá systems and may be processed through manual and automated means.
Automated tools may be used to manage bookings, send confirmations, analyze service usage and understand customer preferences in order to improve services and provide personalized experiences. Any automated processing shall comply with Applicable Vietnamese Data Protection Law.
Personal data is processed strictly for defined and lawful purposes and retained only for the period necessary to fulfill such purposes or as required by applicable law. Upon expiration of the retention period, data shall be deleted or anonymized in accordance with law.
Where personal data is transferred outside Vietnam, such transfer shall be conducted in compliance with Applicable Vietnamese Data Protection Law, including the implementation of appropriate safeguards and required documentation.
Partners and service providers processing personal data on behalf of Meliá are required to implement appropriate security measures and comply with Meliá’s data protection standards and applicable law.
Recipients of the data

- companies within the Meliá group for internal administrative purposes;
- hotel operators and hotel Owners for the management of reservations and hotel operations;
