The Colosseum, the Pantheon and many other archaeological treasures remind visitors of the immense power of the ancient Roman Empire. The Italian capital has not lost any of the majesty with which it was built thousands of years ago.
Majestic imperial legacy
Visiting the architectural treasures of the ancient Roman Empire, such as the Colosseum or the Roman Forum, is something that you must not miss in Rome. It is also home to the Vatican, the headquarters of the Catholic Church, presided over by Saint Peter’s Basilica. Staring at the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel and admiring the frescoes by Michelangelo will make you feel much closer to heaven! You can also get closer to heaven by climbing the 135 steps of the staircase that goes from the central Plaza de España up to the Church of Trinità dei Monti, with spectacular views at sunset. Other great places to discover in Rome include the Trevi Fountain and the Piazza Navona, where we recommend trying the tiramisu. There is also a great atmosphere on the terraces of another square, the Campo dei Fiori. And if you want to enjoy great pasta or pizza, wander around the charming streets of Trastevere, the most bohemian district in Rome.
