Meliá Düsseldorf

“Schönes, zentral gelegenes Hotel am Park und in der Nähe vom Fluss. Das Zimmer war geräumig und das Bad sauber. Die Fenster waren sehr gut isoliert. Die Matratze fand ich persönlich etwas fest, doch geschlafen hat man darauf trotzdem gut. Es gibt pro Person ein großes etwas fülligeres Kissen und ein kleineres, schmaleres Kissen. In unserer Buchung stand "Zimmer mit Parkblick", doch einen Parkblick hatten wir jetzt nicht... (siehe Fotos). Dazu habe ich bei der Buchung angegeben, dass wir bitte zwei Decken statt einer großen wollten. Auch die haben wir nicht bekommen. Das Frühstücksbüffet ist sehr vielfältig aus kalten und warmen Angeboten und im Frühstücksraum war es von ca. 6:45 bis 7:45 Uhr entspannt und ruhig. Was ich nicht cool fand ist, dass man sich bei der online Buchung für irgendein MeliáRewards Programm anmelden muss.”

“We stayed at Melia Düsseldorf with a baby, so cleanliness, comfort, and practicality were very important for us. First, the location is beautiful. The hotel is right next to a large park with a lovely baby-friendly playground (including baby swings), which was definitely a highlight. However, there were several important downsides—especially when traveling with a child. Parking: Parking was extremely tight. We have a BMW X1 and even that was difficult to maneuver. If you have a larger car or SUV, I would not recommend it. It also costs 35€ per day, which was not clearly communicated beforehand. We were told prior to arrival that parking would be included, which unfortunately was not the case. Accessibility: The main entrance has rotating doors, which are not stroller-friendly. There is a side door, but it wasn’t clearly accessible or convenient from the outside. Breakfast: The breakfast buffet was very good, with a wide variety of sweet and savory options and generous hours (7–11 on weekends). High chairs were available, but there was no child-friendly area or any form of kids’ entertainment. Room & Cleanliness: This was the biggest issue for us. The bathroom was not just dusty—it was dirty. There was visible dust on multiple surfaces (vent, sink, mirror, hairdryer), the shower glass was not clean, and overall maintenance seemed lacking, with rust in corners and visible stains in the toilet area. The room itself did not feel properly cleaned. The carpet did not feel clean enough to walk on barefoot, and there were no slippers provided, which made it quite uncomfortable—especially when traveling with a baby. Curtains were partially off their rails, adding to the overall unkempt impression. Baby crib: The crib provided was very narrow and made of fabric (cloth material), and unfortunately it appeared quite dirty and unstable. We did not feel comfortable using it for our baby. Staff: On a positive note, most of the staff (around 80%) were friendly and accommodating. A supervisor during our stay was especially helpful and professional, trying to resolve the parking situation and assist us. ⸻ Overall, this hotel might be fine for younger travelers or short stays, but it is not ideal for families with babies, especially due to cleanliness concerns and lack of proper baby-friendly amenities. “Hello Viewers, So my stay at this hotel is not going to be a pretty review! The hotel is nicely done inside; the lobby, entrance, restaurant, and lounge were beautiful. However, the service at the restaurant, with the servers on the morning shift for breakfast, was the worst I have ever had!!! EXPIEREND. That being said, if it were not for the kindness and true hospitality of the front desk, and specifically certain members of the staff, such as Melanie such a sweetheart, true genuine kindness and great customer service, and Admin the overseer of the lounge who went above and beyond during me and my husband’s stay there to attend this year's Wire Expo, this hotel would have only received one star! And that star would have represented housekeeping, which could have been better had I used my towels to mop the floor, because they left a bunch of hair on the bathroom floor, which is weird since I received “full” service that day. The room service staff were also very accommodating and genuinely nice. Pros: Great location, close and literally in a few steps from the park, which is like Central Park in the States, smile! Beautiful location and clean hotel “Certain members” of staff make it worth the trip Breakfast has a wide enough selection, and you will definitely find something to eat Afternoon/evening staff in the lounge or restaurant, great customer service, and good food The GYM was definitely four stars, it was clean, towels and water provided, and access to lockers, bathrooms, and showers Cons: The morning staff who serve breakfast are all “HORRIBLE” and rude, and I don't believe they truly understand that they are there to make all guests, no matter their “race”, feel at home and to make your stay enjoyable. This staff showed A LOT of microaggressions towards me for the only reason I could think of, which was being a black woman, or a black woman from the US. In Germany, it is technically illegal to come out and be racist to another person. Still, they do get away with treating someone badly in other ways, making them feel “unwanted.” I felt it in their behavior. I would not advise this hotel for any of my “people of color, just because of this encounter. The shower/bathtub is dangerous. The ledge is so high that you have to hold onto something to get out of the bathtub after taking a shower. A couple of times, I almost broke my neck trying to get out of the shower. They had several technical difficulties with their elevator and coffee machine, and the steam room wasn't working, my husband said. The credit card machine was down…. Smh! My review: Definitely not worth 400€ a night plus tax!!”

“Hôtel moderne et propre. Chambre confortable et avec un vrai lit king size, un seul grand matelas et une seule grande couette (ce qui n'est pas toujours le cas en Allemagne). Le petit déjeuné est bon, la salle de sport est bien équipée et l'espace sauna est accessible jusqu'à 22h. Le parking est assez cher 38€ pour 24h mais pratique.”

“Gelungener Osteraufenthalt mit exzellentem Service! Wir haben die Ostertage im Meliá Düsseldorf verbracht und waren sehr zufrieden. Das Hotel ist zwar nicht mehr ganz neu, erfüllt die Erwartungen an ein 4-Sterne-Haus aber vollkommen. Besonders hervorzuheben ist die The Level Lounge: Sie ist sehr gemütlich eingerichtet und bietet eine erstklassige Auswahl an Getränken sowie abwechslungsreiche Snacks am Abend. Was den Aufenthalt aber wirklich besonders gemacht hat, war das Personal. Alle Mitarbeiter sind überaus aufmerksam, fragen regelmäßig nach dem Wohlbefinden und sind bei kleinen Wünschen oder Problemen sofort behilflich. Ein ganz besonderer Dank geht an Ksenia, die uns während unseres Aufenthalts immer wieder eine große Hilfe war. Wir kommen gerne wieder!”
